The journey of The Unique Charity is deeply rooted in the legacy of Unique Talent CIC, an organisation founded by Christian Douglas, Michael Appiah, and Russelle Williams in 2012, officially launching as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2015.
Unique Talent began with a simple but powerful vision—to use music as a tool for change. Inspired by the transformative power of creativity, the organisation started with music production, talent shows, and workshops that gave young people a platform to express themselves, build confidence, and develop positive aspirations.
However, as the team worked closely with young people, they saw a deeper need—a need for mentorship, intervention, and long-term opportunities that could steer vulnerable youth away from crime, exploitation, and violence. From there, Unique Talent evolved into a leading organisation in mentoring, crime prevention, and rehabilitation, helping thousands of young people find their purpose beyond their circumstances.
